"The Battleship" 100% USA Made Black Ceramic Ring With Wood From The USS California

$799.00

This ring is hand crafted with reclaimed teak wood from the Deck of the USS California BB 44 historic battleship sunk during Pearl Harbor Attack Dec. 7, 1941. She was sunk on Battleship Row and then re-floated and repaired getting back into battle in 1944. The ship was built in Vallejo, California at Mare Island in 1920. She became the Pacific Fleet Flagship from 1921 to 1941. Commissioned August 1921

This teak is Burmese and was milled in the late 1800's. It is over 120 years old and cannot be replicated. This teak was specifically milled for US and British battleships. When Japan took over Burma during World War II the supply was cut off. The ship was salvaged in 1959 in Baltimore by Bethlehem Shipbuilders the company that scrapped the ship. Thankfully some of the wood was saved so we can make this ring.

The value of the wood is very high because of the historic value and the rarity of the teak itself. Each piece is one of a kind and the teak has its own grain characteristics, wear from use and burn marks from battle, repair and salvage. Some pieces have plugs where deck was bolted to hull. Finished with proper materials.

Our Ceramic rings are extremely scratch-resistant, second only to diamonds.  Ceramic rings are comfort fit and hypoallergenic. Hand crafted 100% In Utah USA by our skilled jewelers, these beautiful bands can be customized as well.

Quality And Craftsmanship

Wood And Ring Quality

Unlike many other cheaper knockoff rings, our rings are made with solid rare wood, not cheap wood veneer's, that are thin and fall out easily. Our wood is hand cut in places like Lexington Kentucky, The Heart Of Bourbon Country. Our rings are made with some of the most durable and highest quality metals such as ceramic and tungsten carbide and many others. All of our rings come in a light comfort fit to insure all day comfort wearing them.

ECO Sustainability

All of our wood is sourced from reclaimed sources or sustainably harvested wood. Much of the wood was being used for scrap or in the process of being destroyed. For us, saving the wood to use in our rings is our small way of preserving our precious history.

Durable High-Tech Water Resistant Coating

All our our wood inlay rings are sealed with a high-tech, smooth water resistant and scratch resistant clear coating.  This protects the wood for everyday normal wear. (For more extreme work or activity's we provide a free silicone band with your order)

Fast Shipping And 90 Day Risk Free Size Exchange

Worried about getting the wrong size? Almost all of our rings come with a 90 day free size exchange with free fast shipping both ways.* excludes custom made rings, in which a sizing fee may apply.
